CBS "news" is completely dead to me

Progressives on social media have spent the hours since CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan interviewed House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) on Sunday morning’s edition of Face the Nation in a state of mass agitation.

During their conversation, Brennan grilled Jeffries over his claim that President Donald Trump is attempting to rig the 2026 midterms, making note of Democrats’ own efforts to draw favorable congressional district maps when Jeffries stood by his past remarks on the topic.

The exchange was adversarial, but also hardly out of the ordinary.

Nevertheless, some on the left were more than a little displeased by the tenor of the interview, and many were quick to blame Bari Weiss, the former New York Times editor and Free Press founder who was recently named editor-in-chief of CBS News, for Brennan’s audacity.

“Really shameful from @margbrennan,” declared Keith Olbermann. “Never talked like that to any MAGA liars she’s platformed but happy to do it to Jeffries in an attempt to get Bari Weiss to NOT fire her.”

New CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss is reportedly aiming to take conservative commentator Scott Jennings away from CNN and bring him to the Tiffany Network as part of her push to revamp its news operation.

The potential move, first reported by Semafor’s Max Tani on Sunday, signals Weiss is looking to bring right-leaning opinion voices aboard. Jennings, who routinely goes viral for offering the Republican view on the topic of the hour — as well as for verbally sparring with left-leaning pundits — obviously fits that mold.

Gonna have to find it somewhere else. Do you think the station personnel will go along with the new management or will some of them leave?

Now it’s ruined just like so many other things the capitalist vultures have ruined. Capitalism run amok = oligarchy = authoritarianism.

Connie Chung, Jane Pualy, and so many more real journalists. CBS ran a fluff piece the other night
about all those new farm gadgets that let people farm with less human labor. Those devices have been
around for years …. Mechanical planters, things that shake trees so the nuts and fruits fall over, and other
things…. a total right wing fluff piece.

Btw I just saw that by accident when visiting my mother.

of 60 Minutes. Wow. It was pure fluff. CBS used to have some wonderful journalists, and covered hard news, but no more. It's sad.

With Fox, they even get by with using blatant propaganda and saying it's news. We are living in a time when our very democracy is at risk. It's not only scary, but heartbreaking.

This includes, Paramount +, CBS including Sixty Minutes or any of their news, and Pluto.

I will watch Stephen Colbert on youtube. That's all. The fact that they put a fox news type in charge of news just clinched it for good.
