R.I.P. "IRONY," 10-26-25. "Look what happened to our Country when a Crooked Moron became our 'President!"

Trump announced Sunday that mail-in ballots and early voting would be prohibited for the upcoming midterm elections, citing false claims that the 2020 election had been “rigged,” despite having no authority to outlaw such voting practices.

“Look what happened to our Country when a Crooked Moron became our ‘President!’ We now know everything,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “I hope the DOJ pursues this with as much ‘gusto’ as befitting the biggest SCANDAL in American history! If not, it will happen again, including the upcoming Midterms. No mail-in or ‘Early’ Voting, Yes to Voter ID!”

Trump had previously vowed to eradicate mail-in ballots back in August, and again without having the authority to do so. In his social media post Sunday, however, he also vowed to eradicate early voting, and singled out California for its upcoming ballot measure to redraw its congressional districts, a measure passed in response to Texas’ redistricting that was designed to bolster the GOP’s numbers in Congress.

How elections are run are up to the individual states. TSF has no authority over that.

And many had sent in their ballots already, senior citizens depend on mail in ballots. I remember one lady who was 97.

But we know that the Republicans feel just the opposite, they want to restrict the opportunity to vote as much as possible. If everyone votes, they're likely to lose.

As an election judge, you are not allowed to leave the polling place where you're working for the entire time the polls are open. If I wanted to vote at all, I HAD to do it early.

I'm so used to voting early now that I hardly ever wait till election day. I love it, because it's never crowded, and you can get in, vote, and get out in no time.

If early voting and mail in voting are both eliminated, the lines for voting in major elections would be so long on election day that a lot of people wouldn't be able to vote at all. No one wants to wait in line for hours, and no one should have to.

who are the folk most likely to be able to take the time off to stand in line a long time to vote - certainly not the lower wage workers

jeez I absolutely despise repukes - they cannot run on their shitty record so suppressing and cheating is the name of the game

I very much admire the efforts of you election workers; I cannot even imagine what it is like now in this environment

That's the way they like it. Also, forcing everyone to vote on the same day, in the same limited number of locations makes it much easier to control the whole process, including enforcing rigid voter i.d. laws. It also creates more opportunities for intimiation.

Voting by mail makes them especially crazy, because people do it in the privacy of their own homes, making it much too hard to control and intimidate. There's also the fact that because he's a crook, Trump assumes everyone else is, too, that lots of people will cheat and vote multiple times, etc. (Never mind that well-designed vote by mail systems are not all that easy to circumvent. A person who cheats at everything can't imagine others not doing the same.)

... and noticing that the claimed "cure" for inflation is BS, and that King #rump doesn't seem to know what the hell he is doing when it comes to anything other than vindictive retribution for anyone who inflicts damage on his ridiculously bloated but extremely fragile ego. If Democrats can find ways to shout loudly enough, we could see record setting minimum voter apathy.

Look, absolutely nobody hates TSF more than I do (possible exception's being Melania), but his words constitute an exhortation, not a "prohibition." A cheer, if you will.

A pack of psychopathic lies, but not an edict.
