'Suspicious' fire at Portland City Councilor's home being investigated as possible arson
Thank you to everyone who has reached out with concern. Late last night, I woke up to my car, car port, and home engulfed in flames. I'm grateful for the quick response from Portland firefighters who prevented the fire from spreading even further.

The Portland Police Bureau called the fire “suspicious” in nature, and asked that anyone with information contact the Tip Line at 503-823-3473 or arsontips@police.portlandoregon.gov.
Avalos was elected to serve District 1, which covers parts of southeast and northeast Portland, this past November - taking office in January.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson released the following statement in response to the incident:
“As public servants, we each stepped forward to serve Portland, and today, we stand united in support of our colleague. We thank Portland Fire & Rescue and the Portland Police Bureau for their quick response and ongoing investigation into a fire incident involving Councilor Avalos. We are working closely with Councilor Avalos to provide her with the resources and security she needs. This remains an active investigation and we will provide updates when we are able.”

My daughter and her family live in Portland and so do so many families that are Peaceful loving People. They don't deserve this War Waged on them by the Traitor to the USA

the other day that I'm going to be a Great Grandmother! My Granddaughter Reed is going to have a baby. 💕
I asked how they were doing and my daughter, Brigid, doesn't watch it or want to talk about it.. I told her I understood.. I knew this already. My feeling is that her dad is a Traitor supporter and a fox truther.. or at least he was.. who knows now?
And, I'm on the other end of the spectrum and she doesn't want to take sides. I hope nothing ever happens that she has to learn what's going on.
My son is just the opposite... When I was going to No Kings day.. he texted me with "Have a great day, my little patriot. " 
Anyway I did get in that I was really proud of Portlanders.. so impressive how they were handling this with their Inflatable Frogs.

I understand you not wanting to press the issue with your daughter. At my nieces, we don't talk much about it because her husband and my eldest nephew were for trump the first time around, not really sure where they stand now. The rest of my family, they are all Democrats.
Tough times and we haven't seen the worst of it yet.
