So the food pantries are reporting hard times. Please contact one of the local ones in your area and volunteer if you can, ask what they need donated and drop off what you can. Even if your own situation precludes being able to give or volunteer then please take the time to write them a letter thanking them for what they do for the community. I heard an interview on the radio today with a person involved with food pantries and she said that children are now putting food in their pockets from school lunches to take home so their mothers can eat.
