Why 13 Democrats senators voted for a trump nominated judge? Apparently this judge said that the characterization of what happened on January 6th is subject to political debate. Have the Democrats not !learned a fucking thing??

(4,543 posts)Was the judge bound to be confirmed anyway and the Democratic senators were trading for political capital?

(6,266 posts)As political capital with the thug party. No amount of appeasement will work with them.

(827 posts)If the leadership thinks this builds confidence with American voters it does not. Most voters wont know or care.
But it demoralizes the base leading to less donations and potentially fewer votes.
Either way its a loser, both morally and politically.

(1,704 posts)These are rich people, remember. They are not us. If it's to their benefit to do whatever Trump wants, they will. They're only looking towards their reelection at the moment, so they say what they have to to get our votes. Then they'll be doing the Trump Suck just like the rest of them.
Frankly, I don't trust these people right now. I've seen them do stupid things, stay silent, tell us it's not our time, throw gays under the bus, throw women under the bus, throw children under the bus. We are nothing to them, anymore than the MAGA idiots mean anything to the Republicans other than when it's time to vote.
Until we show them different. The people of Portland learned this. The people of Chicago are learning this. Until we stand up and tell them we won't accept their spineless behavior, nothing will change.

(3,829 posts)Better to vote 'present' or just not vote at all, than to vote
in favor of ANY more Trump appointments!
We've see enough to know their likely 'quality'......
