Paul Ingrassia, President Donald Trumps embattled nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, told a group of fellow Republicans in a text chain the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday should be tossed into the seventh circle of hell and said he has a Nazi streak, according to a text chat viewed by POLITICO.
Ingrassia, who has a Senate confirmation hearing scheduled Thursday, made the remarks in a chain with a half-dozen Republican operatives and influencers, according to the chat.
MLK Jr. was the 1960s George Floyd and his holiday should be ended and tossed into the seventh circle of hell where it belongs, Ingrassia wrote in January 2024, according to the chat.
Using an Italian slur for Black people, Ingrassia wrote a month earlier in the group chat seen by POLITICO: No moulignon holidays From kwanza [sic] to mlk jr day to black history month to Juneteenth, then added: Every single one needs to be eviscerated.

(7,117 posts)Chandler Langevin, a Republican member of the Palm Bay City Council, said that Indians come to America to drain our pockets before returning to India, or worse to stay.
Langevin made the comments on social media in late September. In several posts, Langevin called for the deportation of Indian nationals and criticized what he described as the growing influence of Indian immigrants in the United States.
Quick... somebody tell Kash. And Mrs. JD while you're at it.
Rightfully this CLOWN was quickly censured for saying the quite part, of what they REALLY think, out loud (like many of Trump's REICH-wing ilk are starting to DO).
People of Colour would be wise to take note, I think.

(12,113 posts)Seriously. I've been around the block a time or two too. But I didn't know the depths of total depravity until now.
This man is evil incarnate!
I thought I understood people, but now all my beliefs are being challenged. Of course, I knew monsters existed, but I had no idea how many there were and often in positions of influence and power. At this late stage in my life, I feel like I'm starting all over again from scratch.

(171,842 posts)Paul Ingrassias nomination was an obvious debacle, but hes only the latest addition to a growing list of personnel failures.
Every time a Trump nominee fails, the White House looks even more incompetent:

- Paul Ingrassia
- E.J. Antoni
- Brian Quintenz
- Matt Gaetz
- Dave Weldon
- Ed Martin
- Janette Nesheiwat
- Chad Chronister
- Kathleen Sgamma
- Jared Isaacman

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trumps-latest-failed-nominee-makes-white-house-appear-even-incompetent-rcna239083
Lately, however, the assembly line has broken down with surprising frequency. Take this week, for example. MSNBC reported:
President Donald Trumps pick to lead the Office of Special Counsel, Paul Ingrassia, withdrew his name from consideration on Tuesday after his confirmation looked destined to fail. In a social media post Tuesday night, Ingrassia said he would no longer attend his Senate confirmation hearing on Thursday because unfortunately I do not have enough Republican votes at this time.
The right-wing nominees record is filled with a great many ridiculous comments, but his head count was correct: Ingrassias history of radicalism made him one of the presidents most outlandish nominees to date, but after Politico reported on a group text in which Ingrassia acknowledged his Nazi streak, a variety of prominent GOP senators said theyd vote against him.....
But this is not, strictly speaking, simply a story about the demise of a ridiculous nomination. Rather, its equally important to appreciate the larger pattern because while the conventional wisdom is that the Republican-led Senate reflexively confirms every misguided Trump nominee, thats not entirely the case.
Earlier this month, for example, Brian Quintenzs nomination to chair the Commodity Futures Trading Commission failed, and just a few days earlier, E.J. Antonis nomination to become the next commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics failed in the face of bipartisan opposition.
And while three nomination failures in three weeks is a lot, the problem has persisted for months. Indeed, the same list also includes Matt Gaetz, Dave Weldon, Ed Martin, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Chad Chronister, Kathleen Sgamma and Jared Isaacman. (If we widen the aperture a bit, Elise Stefanik is also arguably part of the same group.)
The longer this list grows, the louder the concerns about rampant incompetence in the West Wing.
