Plus of course fly-by-night types like Bessent's pals.

We've seen this movie before: in 2018, when Cheeto arm-twisted the IMF into lending his old pal Macri $45 billion (remember that one?).

Where did all that money go? why, 80% of it went to finance dollarizing peso assets and offshoring by both local elites and foreign speculators - including JP Morgan, who employed the same character who's overseeing the same heist now: Luis Caputo.

But politically, it didn't save Macri's hide back then - and it's not going to work now.

Mostly classical here. Next week's "At the Opera" will be Gotterdammerung.

I'm not a big Wagner fan, but I *LOVE* the idea of the gods going up in flame for their greed and lust.

I'll just settle on folk right now, for the next No Kings.

Can't use copyrighted works, that's the problem.

You can get anything you want at Donald Trump's restaurant. (for a stupendous price)

I was going to post a link, but then I realized it's this very thread.

Feast from Don Giovanni. The commendatore dispatches the Don to hell in the key of d minor!

I knew a bassoonist who didn't care for the ending (after the trip to hell) and commented: "When they sing about a dreadful end, they mean the opera"

Mozart didn't create no junk.

I tell my Christian friends that if they want to go to heaven, they had better learn Mozart, because his music is played there.

I forgot that he said "The Voice of God". I thought it was original with me.

In one word: "perfection"

And to think that Mozart was played by Pinto (Larry Kroger, Tom Hulce) from Animal House.

We can, and must, do what we can to make that next phase -- the healing -- a reality.

Turn the tide on the obscene concentration of wealth, build a truly robust economy -- one that isn't reliant on the top 10% accounting for 50% of the spending (which they can cut back by 30, 40, 50% or more if they feel at all vulnerable -- something the rest of us cannot do because our spending is overwhelmingly on essentials). Utterly reform performance indicators. Do away with market indexes that are absurdly inflated by America's all in bet on AI -- with 10 companies making circular, incestuous deals... and on and on.

Progressive tax on wealth, progressive, higher tax on capital gains than earned income, with the revenue collected financing Piketty's "Inheritance for All."

Bring the American Dream within reach for ALL of us.
