They Are Republicans

Clarity of message is critical. Its not "maga" or "magnet" or "trumper". They are Republicans.
We need to hang that moniker around their neck as a sign of shame.
I realized years ago, during the Tea Party years, that the mistake was not tying them directly back to the Republican Party.

They are doing this to the country. Not "maga" or "a trumper" but a Republican is doing it all.

If it's racist, it's a Republican. If it's misogynistic, it's a Republican. If it's a xeno-purist, it's a Republican. If it's antisemitic, it's a Republican. If it's homophobic, it's a Republican.

The problem is Republicans. No one else. Just Republicans.

Now they're just lying mouth-drooling cowards without any moral character.

I remember that Reagan and Tip O'Neill respected each other and the political process (mostly).

... goes back even further than the Reagan years. There was the McCarthy era, of course, but my favorite is the infamous, and not too well known, attempt to overthrow FDR, when they tried to hire retired Marine Major General Smedley Butler to do the wetwork, but he instead dropped a dime on 'em in a Congressional hearing. Dubya's grandpappy, Prescott Bush, was allegedly a co-conspirator.
Of course, nothing was done.

Because spineless Truman refused to charge them with treason -- the republican party became bold and bolder at lying and cheating -- see
exhibit A) the Red Scare courtesy of Macarthy and his minion Nixon
Exhibit B) Nixon paying the North Vietnamese to not attend the peace talks to ruin LBJ presidency
Exhibit C) the crime family that was the Nixon/Agnew white house with their minions who worked for Reagan and Bush Sr
Exhibit D) Reagan, Baker, et al paying money to the Iranians to hold onto the hostages so that they could win the election
Exhibit E) The crime family junior of the Reagan-Bush years
Exhibit F) Billy Barr -- the scumbag that keeps on giving -- and the pardons of the Raygun crime syndicate
Exhibit G) W and the lies about WMD so that they could get rich on oil

So, yeah lying and criminal has been synonymous with Republican since the 1930s

Correct – it’s not just Trump; in fact, Trump is a product of the GOP: the racism, bigotry, and misogyny, the fear, ignorance, and stupidity, the contempt for democracy, the rule of law, and the Constitution.

Our system cannot function properly without a good faith opposition party. We are now in the untenable position of “heads they win, tails we lose” and we must find a way to right our ship of state.

Some are in hiding, still.
They don't realize it, or the problems, and only think of their rich-ass selves and tax benefits.
They are Scrooges, they want it all, and want more, and that is it.
It is all about them.
They cannot, for whatever reason, think of our good planet or their fellow earth dwellers; that thought has no concept outside of their little scrooge world.
They try to socialize, but in the deepest realms of their hearts it's a mean ass & somewhat miserable scrooge hiding there. So, they live among us, in hiding and count their beans.
They don't discuss politics with the ones who care; although they want to socialize at times, but they remain quiet when sociopolitical discussions arise...
And they vote Republican.

20. Assholes: A Theory
Sun Oct 19, 2025, 04:45 PM
Sunday

Is a book written by philosopher Aaron James. His definition of an asshole is someone who allows "...himself to enjoy special advantages and does so systematically; does this out of an entrenched sense of entitlement; and is immunized by his sense of entitlement against the complaints of other people." (James used the masculine pronoun because he believed most assholes are men, but the book was published in 2012, way before Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0, where we have seen that assholism is an equal opportunity condition.)
That definition is okay as far as it goes but a simpler, more accurate one is, "An asshole is someone who is willing to do ANYTHING to get what they want." Lying, cheating, stealing, killing - for an asshole, the ends always justify the means. They say things like, "Don't bother me with the facts, just give me the bottom line." or "There are no reasons, only excuses."
As for republicons, not all assholes are republicons, but all republicons are assholes, in the same way that while not all Masons are Shriners all Shriners are Masons. To be a Shriner one must be a Mason first. To be a true republicon, one needs to be an asshole.

(Note to anyone who thinks I am saying that Masons and Shriners are assholes, please go back to school and improve your reading comprehension.)

“…the Tea Party…the mistake was not tying them directly back to the Republican Party.”
[Druftglass did!!! Famous for the line: “There is no Tea Party!” And then detailing
their sordid history. Google it and him.

The Tea Party fraud was back then just the most recent incarnation of Republican fantasy fraud to re-image itself. But in reality the same Bible-belted bigoted idiots, racists, anti-government, anti-education clods and jingoists they have always been.
Scratch a MAGA, reveal a Tea bagger.
Scratch a tea-bagger, reveal an “American Firster” (parts I AND II.)
Scratch an American Firster, reveal the Klan.
Scratch a Klansman, reveal a Know-Nothing.

I do that always. NOT congress, republicans. maga is republicans. there are no conservatives left in the republican party, so stop calling republicans and magats conservatives.

I know some conservatives, people of good faith. they're either no longer republicans, or no longer voting for republicans. period.

republicans are hell bent on destroying democracy and the USA in the process.

The romanticizing of these particular men by many on the left is shocking to me.
Eisenhower was a religious nut that put god in every single classroom and on our money.
Goldwater was an anti-union, anti-civil rights and supported McCarthy (who was responsible for both the red and lavender scares)
Reagan was a psychopath. He created a secret deal for Iran to hold our hostages until after Carter lost the election and it literally got worse from there...Iran-Contra Scandal, AIDS epidemic, attacks on Black folk, poor people, "war on drugs"

Truly some of the most awful people to ever hold office that caused such systemic damage to democracy I honestly believe the situation we are in is, at least in part, the fault of these three men.
