I'm Curious. People Who Protested In Red States

How were the police? In Chicago they were friendly. From what I saw they were in small groups talking to each other pretty much ignoring us. They knew it was peaceful and they didn't need to do anything. I got some smiles and waves when I said hi to them. I also know lots of Chicago police are maga. But, I saw no maga behavior from them. I hope these protests might change some of their minds by us being peaceful. No arrests with hundreds of thousands in the streets.

I just wonder how it is in other parts of the country.

Today’s was at town square. Good crowd, short fencing did keep people off highway.

I give credit to No Kings organizers for keeping the protests during daylight hours. Smart move.

To handle crowd control with crossing streets and all entrances to businesses so no one got upset. I saw a few cops but they weren't doing anything just driving up and down street.

I sometimes think my husband and I are itty bitty blue dots in a sea of red.

Your pictures gladden my heart and give me hope.

Mchenry IL, about 50 miles NW of Chicago. Big crowd, lots of friendly noise, one small counter protest by no conflict. There were two officers standing along the route, and cruisers passing by on occasion.

The only officer-involved incident I saw was when a black pickup drove by rolling coal. On the third time, he got busted and ticketed, much to the delight of all.

It was a good day.

I’m not a car guy, don’t know details. But they can make the vehicle emit big black clouds of exhaust. They do it to troll the libs, it’s been around for 10 years or so.

in Puyallup Washington. He nearly started what would have been the only violence of the day. The good guys de-escalated it well, though; and shitboy drive off in a huff and a cloud of black smoke.

He reports the local police were keeping things peaceful by forcing the MAGA instigators
to leave the area.

Local cops and National Park Rangers were fine with the protest.

I think no city wanted to give Trump an excuse to send in the US military.

One police car went by that I saw. They honked, and an officer riding shotgun hung a small No Kings sign out the window.
