What is the beef with Venezuela?

Maduro is considered a dictator and Trump acts like a dictator!

Drugs isn’t the problem here? The problem Maduro doesn’t like Trump and been very vocal about Trump and his deportation policies.

Yes, Venezuela is a drug traffic hub. It is only a small fraction of where drugs come from.

Trump and his minions are going to find out how big a problem like this is going to be disastrous plan.

Maduro is a bad guy, but Trump wants to get rid of Maduro because Trump feels that Maduro is a threat to Trump and his agenda.

I may not be on point with this, but Trump is pushing us ever so clearly into a way with Venezuela.

Just another example of a corrupt president who happens to an American.

Why is he directing our military to go after single fishing boats? The main one is that several countries in that area (including brazil) have indicated that if he does actually put troops in Venezuela, they will join Venezuela to help defend it.

"The opposition collected tally sheets from more than 80% of electronic voting machines following the July 28 election, posted the tallies online and said they show González won twice as many votes as Maduro. The U.S.-based Carter Center, which observed the election on the government’s invitation, declared the opposition-published tallies legitimate. Other election experts that the government allowed to witness the vote said polling records posted online by the opposition appear to exhibit all of the original security features." AP.

Maduro only got half as many votes and still won, Krasnov is jealous.

....Chavez nationalized the oil industry and put some money into socialized programs. The oil boys want that oil. Thus the bogus "drugs being smuggled 1500+ miles in open cigarette boats" story.

...their oil (which seems as logical a reason as any), then he hasn't spoken to any experts (which is also what you would expect from Trump). Those experts would have told him that Venezuela extracts "heavy, sour" oil; i.e. it contains a lot more of the dense, heavy hydrocarbons (so it requires much more "cracking" and processing--some of which is highly hazardous--to get the lighter fractions). Worse yet, it is full of sulfur, which causes corrosion problems and has to be refined out. Venezuelan oil--unlike the prized lighter oils from the Mideast--is challenging to process and requires purpose-built refineries.

This is probably why we're not seeing anyone from the old neocon "bomb-Iraq" movement signing on for Trump's idiotic regime-change policies in Venezuela. My guess is that Trump thinks he has found another exploitable political class:Venezuelan exiles in the US (similar to the Miami Cubans). With Donald Trump, absolutely everything is transactional.
