Can Bolton use Trump's Claim that he declassified everything that was at Mar-A-Lago

Remember when Trump Claimed he de-classified everything that was at Mar-A-Lago?

Okay, that was complete BS, but Trump said it, so Bolton should be able to argue that the DOJ must prove that any intelligence that he "mis-handled" was not included in the boxes of documents there.

This puts the DOJ in a rather awkward position - in court where they might have to admit that the documents were not de-classified. BUt also with the optics since it brings up the whole episode of Trump's stolen documents again.

No. Probably not be any overlap of documents involved, regardless. I am not a lawyer. . . . nt Bernardo de La Paz Friday #1

If the government does not produce copies of every classified document TSF had, there is probably a reasonable doubt as to anything Bolton had. There is no way anybody will believe the prosecution if they say they looked and there were no matching documents because the DOJ lies all the time now. No lawyer or judge is going to trust the DOJ in these revenge cases.

You put reasonable doubt right here as to any documents that match ones found at Mar-a-Lardo!

The court would need a complete record of every stolen document he had down there lol?

I mean, if I were Bolton, I'd file motions for everything from Santa Clause to Thomas Jefferson said I could, because fuck trump that's what HE DID; no reason not to use his own tactics against his own (totally unprepared to begin with) department of petty vengeance.

I discuss your scenario in a response upthread. Since all this shit is classified, it will be ages before the case goes to trial.
