Witnesses say Thunberg was beaten

Witnesses aboard the flotilla, including Turkish activist Ersin Çelik described the shocking scenes at the detention centre. “They dragged little Greta by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag.

17. She was taken prisoner

From a boat carrying food aid to Gaza.
She was beaten, sexually assaulted (forced to strip naked multiple times in a public area, beaten and had photos taken of her while naked) deprived of water and food, left in a cage exposed to direct sunlight for days.

The international community stood by and willingly let Israel torture and sexually assault their citizens and failed to condemn it.

6. Why would you say so?

Been corroborated by multiple witnesses and would be consistent with Israeli police behavior in the past. Beatings and torture are standard practice in Israel.

16. Far worse things done to Palestinian prisoners.

As bad and disgusting as this is, as the activists pointed out it's far worse for Palestinians. They want to keep the focus on that.

Unbearable what we allow to be done to Palestinians and there is so little coverage in our press. It doesn't fit the preferred narrative.

18. So, this is a "discussion board"

Not a baseless accusation board. Discussion would be, like, saying it's a lie and then explaining why you think so. Discussion can also be asking, do you have plans of who you'll disparage with your 20K post? Lots of other humanitarians out there.

I'm gonna' guess that you're just out of the loop on this one.

Israel has released hundreds of Sumud Flotilla members from EU countries. But it’s still holding our US citizens.

Many of the activists who’ve made it home from this ordeal say that—unlike w/ the June flotilla—Ben Gvir’s Israeli security forces beat them.

The peace workers have said what they experienced and saw. They have made very clear their shock and horror at the treatment meted out especially to young Greta.

I await the Israeli response with evidence showing there was no abuse. Israel saying that claims of torture and abuse are untrue simply carry no water. It should be a simple matter of releasing videos showing the treatment of the prisoners -- whose crime was, what again? Bringing food and medical supplies to people who have been left in very precarious, deadly circumstances by Bibi and the Boys?

Show the world the videos of the humane treatment you meted out to these people or stand accused of committing yet additional atrocities in this war of civilian mass murders.

BTW, I support the nation of Israel and the people of Israel almost unreservedly. I also understand the chilling meaning of the Palestinian slogan "from the river to the sea". It is, clearly, genocidal in its meaning. I believe firmly that Israel has a right to exist among the nations of the world. Further, that America and the West need Israel to succeed and flourish by demonstrating the strength and best aspects of Western democratic values.

But with Netanyahu at the helm, its ship of state has gone way off course. Proving fair and human treatment of aid workers would go a long way to correcting course and restoring her reputation for justice and fairness. If that is not possible, then by confessing to the transgressions described in this story and declaring a firm promise of amendment, and a promise to sin no more -- and demonstrating the seriousness of that promise in public acts of kindness and support for the people of Gaza.
