The political svengali and investor has been giving lectures on an evil king or tyrant who appears in the end times
Peter Thiel, the billionaire political svengali and tech investor, is worried about the antichrist. It could be the US. It could be Greta Thunberg.
Over the past month, Thiel has hosted a series of four lectures on the downtown waterfront of San Francisco philosophizing about who the antichrist could be and warning that Armageddon is coming. Thiel, who describes himself as a small-o orthodox Christian, believes the harbinger of the end of the world could already be in our midst and that things such as international agencies, environmentalism and guardrails on technology could quicken its rise. It is a remarkable discursion that reveals the preoccupations of one of the most influential people in Silicon Valley and the US.
A basic definition of the antichrist: some people think of it as a type of very bad person. Sometimes its used more generally as a spiritual descriptor of the forces of evil, Thiel said, kicking off his first lecture. What I will focus on is the most common and most dramatic interpretation of antichrist: an evil king or tyrant or anti-messiah who appears in the end times.

(48,094 posts)Thiel believes that the antichrist would be a single evil tyrant. He mentions several figures he believes are particularly dangerous and, while he never definitively says who the antichrist is, he makes suggestions about how some people could be antichrist-type figures.

Specifically, he suggests the antichrist would be a luddite who wants to stop all science, referencing Thunberg, Eliezer Yudkowsky, and Marc Andreessen.

(59,608 posts)Conclusion: only select whites along with a few adjacent people of other races grandfathered in (like Vance's wife) get to be comfortable and well off. Everyone else can bugger off because the elite have figured out a way to warp christian teachings to justify rejecting empathy, compassion, and kindness to the other. There will be no government services because that is socialism and socialism is anti-christian. There will be no charity because giving just encourages people to expect it and not work.
This is the elitism maga warned everybody about but they are so blind they love this, thinking they are automatically included regardless of what grade or year they dropped out of school.

(7,153 posts)I know a person who achieved a cult following with this condition. He was impoverished though and therefore did not pose as great a danger as billionaire Peter Thiel.

(8,364 posts)It's a philosophy that embraces the antithesis of what Jesus taught and stands for.
There are a lot of people out there who fill that bill.
They can be labeled as an Antichrist, but not the one and only Antichrist.
For example, people who embrace and live the teachings of Jesus are called Catholics or Christians.
