Jordan says ICE agents 'doing the Lord's work'

by Tara Suter - 10/12/25 10:17 AM ET

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said on Sunday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are “doing the Lord’s work” as the agency faces criticism over its tactics.

“I think the ICE agents are doing the Lord’s work. They’re doing what the president promised the American people he was going to do when he ran for the job and was elected in a big way,” Jordan told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union” ...

Dana Bash has been called out after giving Jim Jordan a lofty title he’s never earned.

The Ohio congressman appeared on State of the Union Sunday, and got into a heated debate with CNN host Bash over the DOJ’s current warpath against Donald Trump’s enemies.

At one point, Bash asked Jordan to put his “attorney” cap on and consider whether the president’s actions were actually working to undermine the importance of the DOJ—and while Jordan was happy to take on the attorney role, viewers at home were quick to point out that he had no right to.

While Jordan attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, he never sat for the bar exam to become a licensed attorney

Survivors of Dr. Richard Strauss say Ohio Republican U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan knew about the sexual abuse the student-athletes suffered, according to HBO’s new documentary, “Surviving Ohio State.”

Jordan declined to be interviewed for the documentary, but his name is frequently brought up by former Ohio State wrestlers and a referee. The documentary came out last month. Over the years, Jordan has repeatedly denied having any knowledge of the abuse.

“To say that (Jordan) knew nothing, that nothing ever happened, it’s a flat out lie,” former Ohio State Wrestler Dan Ritchie said in the documentary.

Strauss sexually abused at least 177 male victims between 1979 and 1996 during his time as a physician for Ohio State’s Athletics Department and at the university’s Student Health Center, according to an independent investigation commissioned by Ohio State University ...
