for the entire month of August and the last week of September. Why would they "bother to show up for work" when they're in recess?

Obviously I'm referring to the number of days worked due to the House and Senate being in Summer recess.

...I would have been summarily fired, with prejudice. The same rule should apply to the repugs.

18. Oregon Addressed this issue with state Republicans

The Republicans kept not showing up, so it brought the state legislature to a standstill. Then they would only have a few weeks to do an entire session's worth of work.

Then the voters passed a constitutional amendment that states if a legislator has more than 10 unexcused absences, they are ineligible to run in the next election. It's not a permanent ban, but a time out!

BTW, it passed with 68%! Even Republican voters were sick of their representatives not bothering to show up!
