Why I don't think the shutdown is about the ACA credit

They could keep the credit in the bill and Trump could just end it with an EO. No one would stop him.
It's about the Epstein files.

And keeping as much power from him as possible.

If the economy has to crash, so be it. We were already going that way anyway.

It is time to burn it all down and start anew.

If the credits are extended by an act of Congress (as part re-opening the government) he would need to pull the same maneuver he pulled with the Medicaid funding - a separate bill to rescind the funding.

in getting the credits extended??? The people will suffer less, yes--- which is a good thing---

but will they remember in the 2026 elections that it was the Democrats
who saved them from their health insurance costs doubling???

I have my doubts about that, since the American voters have proven
that they have a very short memory, by electing Trump AGAIN in the first place....

Sometimes I think it would be better if we were not successful on this issue,
which the Republicans have clearly taken a stand against,
and let the people feel the pain before they vote!

Obama didn't personally make money from the ACA.

Trump wants the profits.
