The head of U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Gen. Bryan Fenton, retired from his role Friday.

Seriously he planned on retiring for months and in August Congress approved his replacement, but what I found most amusing was the response out of Pete Hegseth's office.

“FWIW, Gen. Fenton was planning on retiring, it was not tied to the Secretary of War’s speech,” Kristina Wong, an adviser to the Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, said on the social platform X.

No, I did not even try to watch the whole thing, because I knew I wouldn't be able to stomach it. Have read lots of quotes from it and seen some clips, but nothing as horrifying as that image.

If it's real, it's appalling. Beyond appalling. I need to know how real it is so I can set my apall-o-meter accordingly. 😬

I'm sure Hogsbeath and Schlump would both be very pleased.

Those two were like little boys playing with toy soldiers, and they displayed just about as much sense, IF that much. I'm sure that ordering those generals and admirals around made them feel big and strong and tough and powerful, but it just made them look weak and pathetic and deplorable. Pathetically deplorable. Deplorably pathetic. I hate to keep using the same words over and over, but the English language doesn't have enough of the right words to fully describe this spectacle in all of its horrifying awfulness.
