And visited a former girlfriend who moved to Alabama. They were amazed that I was white and spoke good English. They also wondered if they needed a passport to visit. Stupid people in that small town.

Never mind asking them about the u.s territories.
A young acquaintance of mine mentioned she went to school with a kid who was insistent that mexico was part of the u.s. because it was on the map. 🙄

While 54 percent of Americans know that Puerto Ricans are citizens, 47 percent do not know that, according to the poll, which was first reported by The New York Times. Among Americans with a bachelor’s degree, 72 percent are aware of citizenship for people on the island
https://thehill.com/latino/352466-poll-nearly-half-in-us-unaware-that-puerto-ricans-are-citizens/

2024 Pew: https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2025/06/26/demographic-profiles-of-trump-and-harris-voters-in-2024/
48% of democratic voters had college degree or postgrad
33% of republican voters had college degree or postgrad
41% of all voters had college degree or postgrad

ALL: 72%(41%)+y%(59%)=54% know fact of citizenship => y=41% of non-degreed voters were unaware of citizenship
Therefore
Dems composition: 72%(48%)+41%(52%)=%. So 56% of Dems know fact of citizenship; 44% would not
Reps composition: 72%(33%)+41%(67%)=%. So 51% of Reps know fact of citizenship; 49% would not
Only a 5% gap due purely to college degree status. Put another way, the 15% gap in college degrees x (72%-41%)gap in knowledge correlated to the degree contributes a 5% gap between the parties based on degree status alone.

But MAGA as a sub-group would surely be worse off than generic ‘Republicans’.
And college alone not the only predictor. Saturation in racist propaganda would be a factor too.

I’d put it at 60%-70% personally.

Don't believe Black people and other People of Colour are "real" Americans?

The answer might surprise SOME, I think.

The NFL owners, coaches and players are contributing to the hysteria. Not enough that Jerry Jones has put the Dallas Cowboys in the toilet with decades of shitty decisions; now he's going after the Super Bowl halftime entertainment, as well.
