He definitely has some somatic and cognitive decline which is increasing in rapidity. I had conversations with many individuals in my years in practice with elderly on the downslope. Its inevitable that we are going to witness a break reasonably soon.

Theyve already blown past that moment IMHO.
I went through this with my father and I see every marker including TIAs and loss of inhibition.
Big stroke coming? Who knows.
This is both painful and disgusting to watch.
Not to mention disastrous and dangerous for the country and NOT ONE member of GOP leadership is ready to drop the hammer.
Just wow.

A long, long time ago a book by a physician came out. It was about the death process. Paragraphs from that book flash in my head when I watch his pathetic public decline.
The juvenile behavior, such as with the sombrero on Hakeem last night, will brand republicans forever.

(523 posts)It was disgusting to say the least. But has the general public seen it? i dont think so. unless it is broadcast on national news tonight and for days after, it will go unnoticed. We here on DU are plugged into it all, but most people are not.
NJCher
(41,658 posts)General public is irrelevant. What is relevant is how many eligible voters saw it. About 35-40% of eligible voters fail to vote, so that waters down your point remarkably.
General public, eligible voters .whatever. Basically people need to wake the hell up and see what is happening. Then go vote accordingly.

(2,374 posts)Maybe more people are finally noticing because it's getting visibly worse; partly because he appears to have some kind of dementia/cognitive decline, and partly the meds he must be on (he always looks sleepy and out of it; I know a lot of meds have the warning can cause drowsiness as a side effect).
Edited to add: he is still the useful figurehead to the real powers behind the throne.

(1,585 posts)I believe this get together was a huge mistake by Trump. The entire upper echelon of the military has now seen Hogsbreath and President Lunatic in full cry. Seeing is believing. They will most certainly understand the consequences.
These star officers are all very intelligent men. They all have the equivalent of masters and doctorate degrees. Most are students of history. They have sworn an oath.

(41,658 posts)I agree with your post, especially the part about in your second paragraph, but I think the Freudian slip in your subject line is telling.

Last night during the handover, between Rachel and Lawrence, they openly discussed his failing mental capabilities. Its even worse than their observations and I was surprised they went as far as they did.
Ok, Scarborough has stepped in to save me from this nonsense so Ill hold on for a bit as he fact checks.

(6,265 posts)Usually I go out on my front porch and just take a few deep breaths. This morning I found a package that must have arrived after dark last night. That's become an almost daily thing around here, so I go check the front porch anytime I need to get away from BBC News and stretch my legs a minute.

As far as "too woke," it's just another way the regime ignores science, to the detriment of the country and the world.

which explains why, regardless of the venue, his rambling blather is a repeated barrage of delusional self-praise, revenge, profane insults, incitement, and threats...basically a toxic bilge of "only I can"/"greatest president"/"Joe Biden"/"fake news"..and bad boys and girls he intends to destroy...the same disjointed compost heap of lies, hate, and martyred victimhood every time...when he deviates from his repetitive garbage, his utterances are incoherent and garbled...he is literarily at a loss for words..

Closing one eye while speaking or functioning can be a sign of a convergence insufficiency (a vision problem where the eyes don't work well together) or a way to manage overwhelming sensory input during deep thought or intense emotions. It can also be due to a temporary issue like eye irritation or a more serious medical condition affecting the eyelid or facial nerve, such as blepharospasm, stroke, or Bell's palsy. If this is a new or involuntary behavior, especially if accompanied by other symptoms, it's important to see an ophthalmologist or other medical provider for a proper evaluation.
