OMG He's Nuts, Melting Down

Addressing the UN, telling them how shitty they are. Repeating bullshit about President Biden, "ending 7 wars," repeatedly lying about climate change, calling it a "hoax ", etc. I wonder if he's winging it & didn't get the pre-written speech from Miller/Goebbels?

Edited to add he's saying how he promotes free speech here. What the fuck?

The reporting on this should be interesting.

Brilliant if it wasn't. It exposed the real Trump to the world.
Not that they didn't know, but at some point it gets so bad even the Republicans can't hide behind it.

My favorite is the 7 wars he ended, then an ever growing list of countries, including conflicts that happened well before his time. And he thinks this will fly?

Really guys, if we can't outsmart this guy it just doesn't make sense.

Already (watching BBC) showing how they took it. Someone in the audience just said they saw that the U.S. seemed to be happy to hand off its leadership role.

I was watching BBC and they sure as hell weren't saying anything like that.

They were questioning why he would talk about the previous administration.

They observed the U.S. has willingly given up its leadership position with the U.N.

There were other choice bits--wish I would have noted them.

I missed the whole thing, so I went googling to find out more about it. Here are some of the headlines that came up I searched "trump un." (I did not take the time to copy and paste links, but you can probably find any of these by googling the headlines, or just google "trump un" like I did to get a sampling.)

CNN: Trump takes shots at UN, climate change and immigration policies in speech

NYT: Trump Attacks U.N. and Lectures Nations in General Assembly Speech: Live

WaPo: Trump says United Nations is not living up to its potential as he addresses organization

NBC News: Trump slams migration, green energy and failures to end wars in U.N. remarks

NY Post: Prez attacks UN leaders to their faces in speech, warns ‘your countries are going to hell’

MSBBC: With bizarre remarks at the U.N., Trump embarrasses himself and the United States

While I'm sure the coverage could be more hard hitting, and some news outlets are doing a better job than others, most of the majors don't seem to be pretending this was a "normal" speech or saying nice things about it.

terrify the world, mission accomplished. Honestly. Blah, blah, blah, every possible gripe including a new one about if he hadn't lost the construction contract on the UN building, they'd now have mahogany walls. Then there were the old standards - windmills bad, oil good - and an odd focus on immigration into European countries. Apparently, Dear Leader is afraid they aren't going to be white enough or something if they let it continue. Why guys with straitjackets hadn't shown up by the end of it, I'll never know.
