He sold his options (7.3M shares) when departing (https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1997-dec-04-mn-60491-story.html) and made a crap ton of money. He may own some amount now but likely is diversified personally.

Extremely wealthy Americans have no problem speaking their minds. It's the REST of us who have the problem.

He needs to make the courageous decision however, or his legacy will be forever tarnished.

Intimidation and innuendo are the tools many managers and HR departments use on a regular basis. Now running a country like a business has begun using the tools companies try to bully their employees with. Union contracts at least help combat those tactics in the workplace.

Let the guy enjoy his well-earned retirement. There are plenty of younger guys who deserve a chance and probably would make a difference. I'm not in the entertainment industry, so I don't have any insider info. But it's obvious that Disney and ABC know how to nurture great leadership, that's how they got Michael Eisner once-upon-a-time. He worked for Disney for 21 years, and before that he was at Paramount with a string of successes at both companies.

Here's a hint: the next leader of Disney/ABC could just as well be a talented woman. All it takes is a little imagination and a lot of courage.

Just pointing out that he has the correct attitude that the CEO of a massive corporation like Disney should have.

Unfortunately won’t happen with the scum currently there.
