I believe that mayors reasoning was similiar, also adding that ck was not a politician or vet.

... and now he is a "conservative hero." That tells you most of what you need to know about what "conservatism" means today. The rest can be deduced from how they lie about what he actually preached, and how they treat people who speak the undeniable truth.
