Here’s the timeline.

2009 to Jan 2017 - Obama is president
2013 - Comey becomes director of FBI
2017 - Trump installed as president
2017 - Comey stops being director of FBI
2019 - Epstein is arrested
2019 - Epstein dies
2020- Files sealed until late 2024 to allow maxwell to appeal
2021 - Biden enters the White House
2024 - Trump campaigns on promises he’ll release Epstein Files
2025 - Trump is reinstalled in presidency again ,falsely claims Comey, Obama & Biden “made up” the Epstein Files and that they’re a "hoax"

that perhaps the Dems haven't pursued it out of fear that too many of them might be vulnerable to similar accusations.

(I honestly haven't been able to figure out more plausible explanation for why either the emoluments issue or the Epstein mess haven't been seriously pursued by either side.)

I wouldn't be surprised it there were a number of familiar people showing up in the Epstein files. But I believe (or would like to believe) that that we will be able to distinguish the "yeah you were at a random party with Epstein" versus, people who had repeated encounters with him or hung out with him.

Epstein hosted sex parties, numerous rooms in his homes were wired to record video, the FBI reportedly found hundreds of videos in Epstein's homes, and I find Bondi's claim that all the videos found were just porn downloaded by Epstein from the internet extremely hard to believe.

Combined with the usual impulse to "just move on", I think Democrats had little appetite for another round of right-wing attacks on Clinton, etc.
