No Country For Old Men

By now most people have heard of Colbert being fired by CBS with his show scheduled to cease production completely in May of 2026.

What some may not realize is that this is just the first shoe to drop.

The next show likely to be cancelled is The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

The reasoning is pretty straightforward: there is a pending merger between Paramount Universal and Sundance and they are trying to get their collective faces buried as deep into the Mango Mussolini's ass as they can.
By firing two huge public figures that are outspoken critics of the Nazi regime on their network, they hope to grease the wheels to ensure the deal gets regulatory approval.

So if in the coming weeks we find out the daily show is being cancelled now you know why.

I agree. It might have been a few years off without trumpian politics, but it was going to happen. Silent Type Friday #5

Just for Colbert but if they actually cancel the Daily Show too it might lead to a full on revolt.

I don't think they truly understand how beloved these two men are by a very wide spectrum of people.

I’m sure trump politics spurred move, but they canceled the show that follows Colbert last year with months notice. I can see old networks changing offerings with viewers’ habits.
