Expecting Trump to be taken down by a scandal is futile

Even the Epstein scandal. We are too late for that. Trump already controls the levers of powers including shaping the narrative. What are upset MAGATS going to do? Trump does not need them anymore. The GOP will cave to him as they always do. The supreme court has rendered him immune for anything he does during his term that can be remotely characterized as part of his duties (and that's a broad characterization)

Post Trump, even if we retake power, we are not going to setup a Nuremberg style tribunal to go after Trump and his goons because we are apparently too good for that.

No democratic president is going to wield the executive power as broadly as Trump or ignore courts so nothing will get fixed short term. It will take a generation assuming we can retake and hold power.

The only way out is that big macs catch up to him and we are left with Vance which I don't think has the same iron grip on the GOP that Trump does. Infighting would result and we likely would be able to take advantage of that.

Besides due to the unfolding knowledge he is cognitively impaired he might admit it that he is on the last !

Trump controls the DOJ, and he controls the media.

He'll either have the DOJ release a few selected pages of the Ep[stein files to make it look like Dems are implicated, or he'll have the media run a story with an anonymous source that says they saw Hillary eating babies at Epstein's island. He's not going to be taken down by this, period, he has too much power to distract.

Bush I and Bush II were war criminals who lied America into illegal, immoral, unnecessary and disastrous wars.

And they both have gotten away with it -- and mass murder.

What is hoped for is that some percentage, however small, splits off from supporting him.

We need to keep chipping away at this cult. And when/if civic unrest erupts, the fewer red hats the better.

The propaganda machine has no problem with the Turd's long list of scandals but Democrats have to walk on eggshells and be squeaky clean. The double standard is so obvious.

7. I am no expert on cults, but one reason people leave is a feeling of betrayal by the leader

And I think this is going on here. Promise, take away.

Ordinary logic doesn’t work. One would have to understand cult behavior.

I understand only enough to manage.

Like watching uncle Phil pass out in the fireplace at Thanksgiving that one year. Sure... it was a helluva mess to clean up, but he never quite got over it. Worth it.

Even then they probably wouldn't impeach and remove him. Trump will only be "taken out" feet first.

This isn't going to do anything to him in the long run. Hell, the MAGAts have pretty much had things going their way ever since the election, this is just the first big bump in the road (Elon was a minor bump, sort of like running over a beer can) and they're a bit inexperienced at how to deal with it. Trump will just manufacture another crisis to wag the dog, and they'll be distracted by the small shiny object.
