Eight years ago today I had a wholly uncharacteristic burst of energy and posted my response to an email on Facebook.
Not much has changed since then.
I just now answered an e-mail from "Trump Headquarters" asking me, "Do you approve of President Trump’s job performance?" I replied "NO", and was allowed to explain why I disapproved of his job performance. I replied:
"He lies constantly, spends way too much time tweeting hateful and often inane comments, employs his dim son-in-law to be his chief advisor, and relies on advice from the known virulent racist Steve Bannon. He has filled his cabinet with dim bulbs, religious fanatics, and politicians who long ago sold their souls to Wall Street. He is determined to destroy the environment for my grandchildren by promoting the dying coal and natural gas industries, while cutting back on subsidies to the truly clean energy sources of the future, solar and wind. He sucks up to the notorious, criminal Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin so often and so strongly that a true patriotic American like me wonders aloud if he is an actual agent of the Russian Federation; Ronald Reagan is surely spinning in his grave so rapidly that he could be hooked up to a generator and serve the electrical energy needs of the White House. He promotes Made in America, yet his and his daughter's products are made in China. He supports a strong military, yet evaded the draft during the Vietnam War; none of his children have performed any military service. He's grossly overweight, and not an inspiration to our country where too many of our citizens imperil their long-term health by eating too much; his exercise consists of walking two feet from his golf cart to his golf ball where he takes a swing of a golf club before walking two feet back to the cart, which he rides on the green (a no-no in golf) to the next hole. He doesn't give a rat's ass about the poor and the sick and the imprisoned in our country, despite claiming to be a Christian. He has the attention span of a rabid squirrel and appears to be only marginally literate. Thank you very much."
Of course, the site also asked for money ....
