Repugs are afraid that Trump will invent and call them names.
In all seriousness, Trump seems to have a hold on them--maybe withholding money for their home projects--or for their re-election campaigns. IMHO

BREAKING: At 2 AM, Republicans just voted to defund public broadcasting and lifesaving aid because Trump told them to—they wouldn’t even protect rural radio or emergency alerts.

Congress should decide what we spend and what we cut—not Trump and not Russ Vought.

I voted NO.

Unfortunately, that’s how this all works. I wish we had a President who could strong arm Congress into doing the right thing instead of this kind of shit.

10. Yes, we need to start putting this on them, this is what they want. Blaming FatAss is wrong, it gives them an out

Exactly. this is all what Republicans want. FatAss is a convenient tool to blame it on. I hate headlines that say "this congress gave in to his pressure". No, this is who they are what they want and we need to clarify that at every step as we approach the midterms!

long before Trump even appeared on the scene. They can howl all they want that "Trump made them do it", but these cowardly bastards are using the total disfunction of the Trump admin as cover to destroy New Deal and Great Society programs. That has been the Republican goal since these program's inception, period, end of story.

Many of us rely on those radio stations for emergency alerts, which we need right now more than any other time of the year (here in AZ). She is not wrong to call emergency alerts lifesaving.
