2 MINS AGO: China CANCELS All US Soybean Orders 2.4 Million Tons & $1.1 Billion VANISHED In Hours
China just sent a jolt through global markets by abruptly halting all U.S. soybean shipmentsdiverting 2.4 million tons to Brazil in a matter of hours and effectively erasing $1.1 billion in American agricultural contracts. But this wasnt just a trade adjustment; it was a calculated move. By targeting a key U.S. export at the height of shipping season, Beijing struck where it would be felt mostsending shockwaves from commodity markets to Capitol Hill to the heartland farms of the Midwest.
In this video, we break down the bigger picture behind the headlines. Using real-time trade data, USDA reports, and insights from Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal, we explore how Chinas action may mark the beginning of a broader economic pivot. What looks like a grain shipment reroute could actually signal a strategic decoupling in progressone with implications for U.S. agriculture, global supply chains, and long-standing trade norms.

(11,670 posts)So soybeans can be risk managed after planting.
That said, having a lunatic as President still makes such risk management difficult.

(3,337 posts)many soybean products can be stored for years. The hedge funds who own those commodities won't feel the slightest compunction to sell them cheap just because Mr and Mrs America and their six kids seem to have gotten themselves into a situation where they have no food on the table.

(36,562 posts)What you say is true, they have no problem leaving other people's money linger in the markets forever. Even though those people may need their money for things like food and healthcare.

(19,015 posts)Starting massive feasts on insulation by Mickey, Minnie and company. Neighbor paid a ton of money to have his car rewired.
They done missed shooting themselves in the foot and shot themselves in the head instead. Brilliant move.

(6,831 posts)They directed their farmers to plant soy beans and have found other countries to order from.
So I guess we'll be paying the farmers more subsidies. Pretty soon they are going to just give up and stop farming .

(576 posts)And the U.S. farmers who use to grow soybeans are bailed out with U.S. taxpayer money. That's how 💩 got the farmbelt vote. China doesn't care that their money will go towards defoliating the Amazon. They're planet.trashers. To them, money talks and Eco bullshit walks.
