Imagine if the Pope made a statement that:

the ICE roundups are anti-Christian;

that Catholics are encouraged, even obligated to refuse to cooperate in the roundups;

that any Catholic participating in ICE actions will excommunicated.

The Catholic Church was silent during the slave trade.

It was mostly silent during the Holocaust.

It countenanced the abuse of children.

Isn't it about time it actually took a moral stand that would put it on the right side of history?
