***May Photo Contest: The Winners***

The moment we've all been waiting for: Who won?

The theme: Dogs! It was chosen by Grumpy Old Guy.

Dogs!
I have been involved with several contests, and I've noticed one thing in particular. Photos that include a dog always do well. I'm sure it's because people love dogs. It's almost as if the dog photos have an unfair advantage. Therefore, I think it's time to level the playing field. Every photo has to include a dog!
Dogs rule!

The Winners!

In First Place: Sarge, now on eternal watch by HAB911!

In Second Place: New Baby. First Bath. by Mira!

In Third Place: Puppy Having A Ball by groundloup!

Congratulations to all of these winners with their astonishing and meaningful photos! This has been a great contest.
And thanks to all who entered, left comments and had fun doing everything!

So all of these photos captured the souls of their subjects beautifully And oh, how we need their simplicity and warmth in these infuriating times.

(Also, I have been wanting to use "to the contrary notwithstanding" for ages.) Thanks for the photos, all concerned!

What a winner! Sarge's portrait inspired trust and safety, and it is a beautiful memorial to him. I loved participating and was happy for Lola to win a spot.

She is way less regal, but she also guards the house and reads the paper after her bath.

Thanks for your votes and to California Peggy for a perfectly run contest.

I knew this would be a good contest. Everyone, except Trump, loves dogs. It was a no-brainer.

Congratulations to my friend HAB911 for his moving portrait of Sarge.

Congratulations to Mira for New Baby, First Bath. This was my vote. I loved the lighting and composition and the beautiful little puppy. Full disclosure, I really admired HAB911's portrait of Sarge, but I knew it was going to win, and I wanted this little puppy to come in second.

Is there anything better in this world than a puppy with a ball. Congrats to Groundloup for placing third.

Finally, thanks to our dear California Peggy for running an excellent contest!

Good luck HAB911 choosing next month's topic.

It was perfect.

And thanks for your kind words on my running the contest! It's never routine, but I've done a few so I'm pretty familiar with all the ins and outs.

Perhaps if you subscribed to the Photo Group, you'd be more likely to see the announcements every month about that month's contest.

There is a button at the top left corner of our Group that says SUBSCRIBE in orange. If you click on it, it will change to UNSUBSCRIBE. Then with that button clicked, you will get all the posts that come from this group and so you'll know when the monthly contest is beginning.
