John Ewing's lead over Jean Stothert grows in latest round of Omaha (blue dot) election results

Dan Crisler May 16, 2025 Updated 11 hrs ago

Omaha Mayor-elect John Ewing’s lead over incumbent Mayor Jean Stothert grew in the latest round of unofficial results released by the Douglas County Election Commission on Friday.

Ewing led Stothert by 12,899 votes — 53,322 to 40,427. Ewing’s total, which accounted for nearly 57% of the vote, marked an increase over the 10,935 ballot margin that separated him from Stothert at the end of election night on Tuesday. There were 267 write-in votes for other mayoral candidates.

A Douglas County Election Commission spokesperson said Friday’s unofficial results include all but about 500 provisional ballots and other ballots that are eligible to be cured. Those ballots will not materially change the outcomes of any races.
