Remember endlessly typing "now is the time for all good (wo)men to come to the aid their country?" I remember sitting in various classes way, wayyy back then and wondering when, if ever, most of what I was learning would have any application in the "real" world. Go figure . . .

"Everyday Americans" have little moral clarity. Vast swaths of Americans care nothing for our ideals, for equality, for civil rights, for the rule of law, for self-rule, election integrity, safety or society or justice or their neighbors. They care about finding someone to blame, then reveling in the misery of that "other." They care about "getting theirs" at any cost.

The only reason any backlash will mount against Trump will be for purely selfish reasons, when he hurts their personal finances. That's it. I guess it is better than nothing but in all honesty, it is still kind of shameful.
