Our soldiers are being honored in Lithuania. Who wants to bet that trump will NOT even meet these fallen soldiers at the airport when these heroes come back to the United States.

In this time of profound sorrow, we are reminded of the indomitable bond between our nations. The compassion, respect, and unwavering support demonstrated by Lithuania and all who stood with us will echo for years to come.
To our Allies, fellow service members, and everyone who contributed to bringing them homeour deepest gratitude.

Ty, Lithuania!
I feel they are mourning the death of our democracy as well as the soldiers who lost their lives.

(33,785 posts)was their vehicle sunk. Was their bodies found in the vehicle?

(97,012 posts)Peat bogs notoriously dont give up their dead for centuries, but iiuc the rescuers dredged part of the bog and were able to get the vehicle out with 3 of the 4 bodies.
Perhaps someone else here has more recent news.

(10,868 posts)At the rate he is creating people that hate him, world wide, it will be a horrible existence to be, or to be named, Donald J Trump Jr.
His miserable spoiled ass will have to go through life like an Adolf Hitler Jr. and as we head straight into a hell scape, even MAGA will wanna kick his sorry ass.
Not gonna be good for him, but damnit, I will love the fuck out of his misery, as will MOST of the world.

If only the republicon Draft-Dodger-in-Chief had a smidgen of honor, he would be there to pay respect.

(20,374 posts)My son-in-law took issue with my short comment. He has been a commercial pilot for many years and brought fallen soldiers back from the Middle East in the early 2000s. He never told me about this then, but his Mom did, in confidence. In his response to my post, he detailed his experience, and said that it isn't a given that the CiC meets the fallen. He said I should leave that ceremony out of my political posts. He is an r, but as far as I know not a trumper. (tbh, I avoid politics around him) I looked for confirmation about the story and scanned 3 sources that aren't fox, other rw rags, and each story pointed out that felon was going to fl. to play golf, so this is what I posted.
*Just heard that instead of being at Dover AFB when the bodies of the 4 dead U.S. soldiers were returned to America, felon went golfing.*
I am trying to focus on the lack of humanity as I resist the current state of my country. I refer to him as felon if I have to refer to him at all. I try to honor fallen soldiers if their are headline stories about their deaths. I am a life-long pacifist, but the people who die for our country deserve thanks from us, whether we wanted them to die or not.
I'm venting. I have a good relationship with him and I hope this isn't the end of it.
