2/7. The US demands that Ukraine accept an immediate unconditional ceasefire. Ukraine agrees.
3/7. Russia rejects any talk of such a ceasefire, and instead asks for a halt on strikes on energy targets, an area where Ukraine is hurting Russia. The US agrees and Ukraine agrees.
4/7. Russia within one day violates the terms of its own proposal, attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure along with other civilian targets. There is no US response.
5/7. Meanwhile Russia insists that the United States enforce on Ukraine Russias war aims, even though they are outrageous and even though Russia is not winning the war. The US agrees.
6/7. The United States also insists that Ukraine concede its mineral wealth in exchange for nothing at all.
7/7. This has not been a peace process. It has not even been appeasement. It has been the US throwing its power on Russias side in a war of aggression.

(777 posts)It's a disgrace that no one is willing to stand up and represent this country as a government-in-exile, but we shouldn't just surrender the rhetorical fact that these people are not our government. The Constitution is very clear on that. They are simply traitors who do what they're told by an enemy regime, and there is no reason to concede a single word to them.

(2,056 posts)... though it could be argued that he may not be in the very narrow definition found in the Constitution, but only because they haven't found the so-called "smoking gun"... yet. But rest assured, it's there; Congressional cowards are just too chickenshit to bag it and tag it.
But, for all practical intents and purposes, he's more of a traitor than Benedict Arnold, the Rosenbergs, Aldrich Ames, and Robert Hansen all rolled into one.
I cannot fathom why people are so afraid of this skeezy weasel. I wonder if they're more afraid of what they'll find out when they discover how widespread the treason really was when they dig deep enough, and maybe what Putin will do when his part in all of it is laid bare.
Protecting the nation is infinitely more important than preserving the tattered reputation of a pathological liar, convicted felon, thief, rapist, and mass murderer. Don't forget his COVID-19 lies, and the people who died because they were stupid enough to believe the evil sonofabitch. He's skated through all of this for far, FAR too long. It's time to end it, and the political careers of every Republican who enabled him. Let them spend the rest of their worthless lives cleaning toilet bowls with their own toothbrushes.
How do such vile, hateful people rise to power? Is it because so many Americans are equally vile and hateful? Or are they just gullible idiots? Now, that doesn't excuse anything; they're still responsible for everything that's happened because of their support for this psychotic monster.
