The way to stop Medicaid fraud is MORE INSPECTORS. Not de-funding it.

Medicaid is a relationship between the federal and state governments and healthcare providers. Healthcare providers often commit fraud with respect to Medicaid. If you found out that 10% of Medicaid payments were fraudulent, the solution is not to cut funding by 10%. That would just mean that you'd still have 10% fraud occurring in the now 90% of the remaining funds.

To get rid of the fraud (and punish the fraud healthcare providers) you'd INCREASE spending - getting more cops and inspectors on the beat, to find those clinical labs, ambulance companies, medical device companies, etc., that are submitting incorrect/improper reimbursements.

I wish everyone would stop falling for the dumb lie that cutting Medicaid reduces fraud. (I'm looking at you, corporate media) Because the GOP wants to kill it completely, and they will use this braindead excuse to do so.

Fraud pays, and now the GOP plans to make the most vulnerable pay the costs of fraud they had no part in perpetrating.
