AZ-SEN: Kari Lake's Senate campaign entered October with more cash while debt grew
U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake boosted her campaign cash entering October but did so with fast-rising debt and still lagged far behind the financial resources of her Democratic rival Ruben Gallego.
Lake had by far her best fundraising quarter of the campaign after clinching the Republican nomination, but once again couldnt raise even half of what Gallego brought in between July 11 and the end of September.
She ended the summer quarter with $4.4 million in cash and $2.1 million in debt, a figure that has only risen throughout the year. By comparison, Gallego had $7.2 million in cash, a dip from earlier this summer, but no debt.
Gallegos campaign actually spent slightly more than it took in, but the eye-popping $21.4 million in expenses also helped make his ads ubiquitous on screens all over Arizona. And he did so without posting any lingering debt.
