Avoiding prison is the real reason why he’s running. Unfortunately, win or lose, Trump won’t go to prison. He will soon need “Assisted Care” 24/7.

Win or lose, #DonOld isn’t going to the White House, neither to prison.

Trump is going to a Long Term Care Facility.

They are lovely. He will have his phone and can spend all day and night posting lies and misinformation to his cult. In fact, not much in his life will change except possibly his diapers, more often. House arrest seems more likely than actual prison, but again without his damn phone or computer. I agree that if he wins, which he won't, he will not be in the WH. They will 25th amendment his ass out of there immediately and install Vance.

His lawyers will try to use a non-mentally competent defense to keep him our of jail.

It would be so fucking disgusting for Trump to evade full punishment that way. But even if he's institutionalized rather than jailed, it could well be argued that it's a national security risk for a former president with insufficient control of his faculties to be allowed unlimited communication with the public, as he might leak confidential information.

...to make candidates for office submit to a mental health evaluation before they could run for office. Even if such a requirement could be implemented without dangerous pitfalls, it would take amending the Constitution to make it work.

Authoritarian types don't like appearing weak, but he's also familiar with the stereotype of the aging mafioso facing a jury from a wheelchair, plaid blanket over the legs, and on portable oxygen. Would Donny put in the extra effort?

TFG is running for POTUS to stay out of prison

TFG last night discussed fleeing to Venezuela if he losses

https://www.alternet.org/trump-musk-venezuela/

Legal experts jumped on Trump suggesting a trip to Venezuela, especially given his status as a convicted criminal awaiting sentencing.

“Trump is a convicted felon to be sentenced in a month and he’s talking about fleeing to a country that refuses US extradition requests,” observed MSNBC legal analyst Kristy Greenberg, a former SDNY Criminal Division Deputy Chief. “Anyone else would be in jail. Trump is showing yet again that he isn’t amenable to Probation’s supervision and must be sentenced to jail time.”

There are countries where TFG could flee which do not have an extradition treaty with the US

If TFG loses, TFG will do what he can to avoid jail.
