Am I the only person who is tired of Kornacki and his constant efforts to degrade Harris???
He's a bullshit artist.

(18,302 posts)Won't somebody please tell us? Give us a hint? Something?
I've never really understood the Kornacki hate or where it comes from, but I have seen more than one case of people interpreting something he said in a way I considered inaccurate.
If someone can't give us a video clip (because I'm not taking anyone's word for this), I'm going to write this off as just more of the same.
whathehell
(29,609 posts)Kornacki said before jumping on the Hate Wagon.
I never "got" the hate on him
either. I find him hard to follow because I'm not a stat person and he talks very fast. That said, I never heard him say anything indicating bias, either. You said that you've thought people misinterpreted what he said..Can you give me an example or two?.. I ask because I'd like to know something of what he's said, since I honestly couldn't quote him if my life depended on it. Thanks.
ShazzieB
(18,302 posts)I wish I could give you a specific example, but I don't have one. It's more of a general impression I've gotten that some people don't like the way he factually reports whatever numbers are coming in with a lot of energy and enthusiasm no matter which side seems to be winning. If he thinks it's not looking good for a Democratic candidate, he'll simply say so, not because he's rooting against them, but because those are simply the facts at that point in time.
Personally, I think that's fine, but I suspect some people would like him to be more of a cheerleader for the Democrats and express more of an emotional reaction to what the board is showing. I don't think that's how he sees his job, though. He is focused on the numbers, and he's there to report on them, period.
Unfortunately (and in my opinion unfairly), I think that some people may be mistaking the objectivity that he sees as part of his job for a lack of concern about whether Democrats are winning, and it's rubbing them the wrong way.
That's my theory, for whatever it's worth. I have no idea if I'm right, snd if anyone has an alternate theory, I'd be very interested to hear it.

I havent noticed an anti-Harris slant to his reporting, though I dont have MSNBC on 24/7 either.
Some clips I have seen of him reporting on poll results, he just parrots the info the pollster has released, without much critical examination, although he does seem to mention the MOE pretty consistently.

He helps those of us who can't wait for the actual result understand what is likely coming. He's good at it, usually on the mark.
I've never seen bias on any candidates. It appears he's rooting for the Democrats, but he won't give us a rosy picture just to make us happy.

(620 posts)...what do you mean? I've never heard Kornacki say anything degrading about any candidate, unless you consider things like "has a tough challenge here" and "will be tough to win there" to be "degrading"?
Is that your beef? If Kornacki isn't providing you with warm fuzzies you crave about Harris being practically unbeatable then he's "degrading" her?

(566 posts)On DuckDuckGo, "Steve kornacki" and "log cabin republican" -- and another search using "log cabin Republicans" (plural). The first search brought up a handful of links, all but one from here on DU, and all but one of those written by the poster above. The other link was a bio of SE Cupp (who evidently worked with Kornacki at one time) -- and oddly, she is a Log Cabin Republican.
For the plural form, there was nothing new -- only longer news pieces where Kornacki's name was in a list of news that included Melania getting paid $273k to appear at an LCR event.
So, yeah. Sources -- other than this site -- welcome.

As for attacking his clothing, I think that is childish and just plain ignorant. We sure wouldn't put up with anyone commenting on how females dress, so shouldn't we show the same courtesy to males?

She and Steve equate Trump's unfavorables with Kamala Harris's unfavorables--like fascism's negatives are comparable in any universe to democracy's unfavorables. Almost every statistic is presented as dooming Harris and the one bright spot for Kamala (change) is shrinking. Several ways of showing indicators mean Trump is likely to win. Abortion has never before been a deciding factor. ETC ETC ETC Oh, and has anyone ever seen Steve Kornacki get dramatic and flail around about the horrors of fascism or the dangers of white supremacy?
