WOMEN!The "polls" are showing that the election is a virtual tie. I believe that's bullshit.
The issue that will make the difference is a woman's control of her own body.
Many Republican women live in red states or swing states. Some are MAGAs and some aren't that extreme. Their husbands, families, friends, neighbors are all conservative Republicans. These women publicly state that they will vote for Trump because they fear being shunned and threatened.
But, once they're in that voting booth, they don't have to fear what anyone else may think of them. They will vote for their own freedom of choice. They will vote for owning their own bodies. They will vote for Kamala Harris.
They will then exit that voting booth and proudly tell everyone that they voted for Trump.
And the votes of all these women, (that don't show up in any polls), will help make Kamala Harris the next President of the United States.

(21,340 posts)Poll average shows Kamala up almost 3. Poll averages in the swing states show her up in NV, WI, PA, and MI.
It this were reversed and Trump was up, people would be saying "it's over."

(21,340 posts)Individual polls do. Polling averages could still be wrong, but they just don't come with MOEs.

(15,265 posts)Dems I know are living in fear that the beast could "win"/steal the election. They see the same numbers you mention, yet it doesn't comfort them.
"Lost" votes, "cleansed" voting lists, misinformation about polling places, gerrymandered districts, and so many other voter suppression tactics are the weapons Republicans are using, right out in the open.
The power of the women's vote that I speak of in the OP is not that apparent. I try telling that to those whose "anxiety level" has hit 10, but it doesn't seem to help.
But I truly believe this (hidden) women's vote will make all the difference.

(27,212 posts)If Kamala is going to win, it will be because women (and men) on our side turned out en masse.
I think the extent to which GOP women will cross over unexpectedly (and, therefore, not reflected in the polls) is significantly overestimated.

(15,265 posts)Yet, I believe there are tens of thousands of women whom I've referenced in the OP. And in swing states, they are the ones who can bring home victory.

(522 posts)According to pollster and political analyst Harry Enten, white women have historically supported Republican candidates in presidential elections, with Mitt Romney winning the demographic by 9 points in 2012, and Trump by 6 and 7 points in 2016 and 2020, respectively.
However, according to Enten's analysis, Trump is not faring so well among white women this year, leading the demographic by just 1 point.
"He's doing the worst, if this holds, for a GOP candidate this century among white women," said Enten, who previously worked for FiveThirtyEight

(60,289 posts)I also believe that women will turn out in the voting booths, too. Remember the March on Jan 20, 2021. The organizing and lead up to that was pretty low key, but women turned out all over the world in support of their loathing of trump. I'm counting on that kind action again.
