"SNIP..........

“Donald Trump has largely outsourced his 2024 campaign’s get-out-the-vote operation to a Super PAC bankrolled and directed by Elon Musk, the world’s richest man,” Rolling Stone reports.

“In recent weeks, several Republican operatives and other figures in the national party have bluntly and directly informed Trump they fear Musk’s organization is falling down on the job of mobilizing voters to cast their ballots for the Republican nominee.”

That also goes for experts in politics. But go ahead, y'all don't need no stinking experts in anything.

GOTV drive.

What the hell would Elon know about any of this?

I saw an article yesterday, some young Elon fangirl was saying how she was surprised at how low tech the operation was, she wasn't getting paid in one State, was fired and then re-hired, and people aren't happy to see her when she knocks on their doors.

And you need enthusiastic people going door to door.

Anecdote from a friend living in rural Michigan. He's a Dem and a disabled vet living in a small town that is mostly Trumpville. Some little Asian teenager knocked on his door the other week, he thought that odd since he knows everyone in his town and none of them are Asian. It was a kid out canvassing for Trump. Rather than being short and slamming the door, he was curious so asked the kid some questions. Basically the kid's only response was, "I don't know dude, I get paid by how many doors I knock on." That is not how you do GOTV, it takes enthusiam to do more than just go through the motions. The npeople that showed up to my door in 2020 were curious and excited and asked more than a couple questions because they wanted to make sure they were getting good data. That's what gets people to vote. That is what GOTV means.

Farming it out to non passionate paid non partisans isn't going to be effective at all.

I hope this is really what's going on with the whole GOP GOTV effort.

whatever contrasts and stands out on your literature

We had a paid (well paid) operative canvass us on Sunday. I gave him a tip from my canvassing days - add little notes unique to the person who lives there. If they have a Tech lawn flag write GO HOKIES! Same with UVA or JMU or even if the have nice flowers that they clearly spend time on compliment that.

Does it work? Who knows but it’s worth a shot.

Would it be if his BFF, Eloon, offered him a ride on the penis ship to go to mars to avoid jail time.
Show him one of those old movies about Mar’s where only women live. Offer him ALL the “P” grabbing he could dream of.
And, the ship takes a slightly wrong angle and goes to another galaxy.
Make it a family get away.
And yea, take Barron too, with his coins.

doors they hit which gives an incentive for the canvassers to simply throw the materials at doors as they drive by - kind of like a newspaper delivery person. Not only not very effective but may be counter productive as the trump crap will litter the neighborhood and piss people off. Also apparently the app Musk is using is not working because of poor internet connectivity in rural areas. So not only are the canvassers failing but they can't track who has done what. Pretty much a shit show.

Trump-allied Pac fires canvassing vendor in crucial states weeks before election
Wed 18 Sep 2024
Elon Musk’s America Pac replaces voter turnout operations in Arizona and Nevada with fewer than 50 days till election

America Pac, one of the largest and the most ambitious of the groups supporting Donald Trump’s campaign, is replacing its ground game operations in the crucial battleground states of Arizona and Nevada, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The political action committee, backed by billionaire Elon Musk, has ended its contract with the September Group and will hire a new company to knock on doors with fewer than 50 days left until the election.

America Pac used non-performance as the stated reason to back out of the contract in the past few days, claiming the September Group was not hitting its door-knocking targets, one of people said.

The shakeup comes at a crunch moment for the Trump campaign, which has outsourced virtually its entire ground game operation to a number of political action committees in this presidential cycle. America Pac is seen as the most ambitious, with a presence in every swing state.

Republicans in swing states say they see scant signs of groups door-knocking for Trump
September 22, 2024
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Republican activists in swing states say they have seen little sign of the teams tasked with knocking on doors and turning out infrequent voters on behalf of Donald Trump, raising concerns about the party’s presidential nominee relying on outside groups for an important part of his campaign operations.

Trump and the Republican National Committee he controls opted to share get-out-the-vote duties in key parts of the most competitive states this year with groups such as America PAC, the organization supported by billionaire Elon Musk.

It is difficult to demonstrate that something is not happening. But with fewer than 50 days until the Nov. 5 election, dozens of Republican officials, activists and operatives in Michigan, North Carolina and other battleground states say they have rarely or never witnessed the group’s canvassers. In Arizona and Nevada, the Musk-backed political action committee replaced its door-knocking company just this past week.

A Mark Cuban tweet of Ben Shapiro interviewing Trump - Trump doesn't answer his question (apparently - Cuban listened to 4 minutes before cutting it short, but my tolerance is less), which was "how confident are in your campaign's Get Out The Vote efforts? Because I'm hearing a lot of information on the ground, some good, some not as good, about the ability to get votes out, because Democrats are professionals at ballot harvesting and doing everything else they can to get those ballots in however they have to do it." (Yeah, a leading "ballot harvesting" reference, and Trump just launches into "they cheat", and never apparently says "we're fine" or anything)

?s=46
And 'America PAC' is still offering jobs as canvassers, it seems, though I can't check that since they block the website outside the USA. People think it's a bit late to not have signed everyone up.

Next to Trump, Musk is the big business asshole who sucks the hardest at delivering anything functional.

When these two morons tank each other Musk can blame it on Trump's unwillingness to change his name to XFashXXX.

Musk isn't giving money to the usual grifters who are usually paid by the GOP for on the ground efforts... and the cash is split with the GOP'ers...

Sorry... everything I read reminds me how dirty these folks are.

One might almost suspect Musk is just another super rich guy with a hugely bloated ego who doesn't realize how much of his success is due to other people's talents and shear dumb luck.
