And the economy is in shambles?

Yeah, prices are way above the inflation rate. As the fictional Wall Street character Gordon Gekko espoused, "GREED, for a better lack of the word, IS GOOD!" The reference to Corporate GREED is strong here.

Today it’s close to 43,000, but only people who dig out business news know this. The media rarely reports on how good the economy is, or relegates any coverage only to the business pages. Biden gets little credit for the economy because all the media wanted yo focus on for the past year is his age. Now that Trump is the old candidate, his age is never mentioned. Nor is his obvious mental decline regularly reported.

and into the 1970s and inflation was always an issue families had to deal with. Remember Gerald Ford and his WIN (Whip Inflation Now) button. Nixon also had his wage and price freeze which was okay but with a static paycheck it didn't help.

Mom saw that bacon was $1.30 a pound (back in the day) and she would refuse to buy it until it was a 'nice' price. My big issue is bratwurst. The price is ridiculous and I am resulting to buying them at Sam's by the 5lb package. Yes, inflation WAS bad last year and I get that. But today at less than 2.5% at an annual rate, I think we have reached a point where it is about time to stop whining.

And you can't talk inflation witrhout wage growth. Wage growth has exceeded inflation, people are making more money.
