(4,385 posts)Well, it was Elliot Ness sending Frank Nitti off the courthouse roof in The Untouchables.
Not two-hundred feet, but enough.

(18,913 posts)My father would certainly agree. He never got to see Fury, passing away long before it was made. He'd have had tons of critiques I'm sure, like Saving Private Ryan which he did see. After crossing the Rhine, they were battle hardened, lean, mean and efficient about their business. The damn thing was over and everyone knew it except some SS bastards who couldn't take a hint. And no one wanted to be the guy who got killed weeks or days before the war ended. Needless to say, their tempers were short and they had no patience for dead enders. He also had ZERO patience for jackasses who thought it was "cool" to be a nazi decades after the horror. Wherever he is, I'm sure he's smiling about SS Dingleberry's little stumble.

That said, I do genuinely feel horrible for his (non-Nazi) family members.

(185,869 posts)The Hills are Alive scene in The Sound of Music was shot right outside the restaurant.
We were told the restaurant didnt live the tours coming through. Nice restaurant but in came a bunch of shorthair yokels acting a bit jerkish. I just walked through in the mix.
Really nice. Unbelievably beautiful. The Alps were right outside the porch from our rooms. They had a program to train Army cooks. There were chefs from France Italy Spain etc. one of the greatest meals Ive ever had. Dinner was 5-8 I think all you can eat. A massive amount of desserts. Ate a huge amount, went up to the room, purged, nap, back downstairs. Not much of a nightlife there.
Only round of golf I played in Europe. Went white water rafting too. The crew were all civil servants. Everyone in the boat looked at each other like, Jesus we made a mad choice (joining the Army)
This says he was there 14 times
