General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsMy observation driving on I-81, I-83, and I-76 from
Augusta County, Virginia through West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania yesterday: I saw maybe two Trump signs and no Trump bumper stickers. Once on I-76 east in Pennsylvania, all I saw were pro-Harris/Walz signs/billboards and anti-Trump billboards. In fact, there were two billboards from former Trump voters who are voting for Harris.
It was surprising to me and very hopeful. Lets GO!

(3,587 posts)Lots and lots of TFG signs, flags, billboards and banners.
Was up in the Big Valley (Mifflin County) this week and not a lot of TFG signs (but very few ,la signs). Heavy Amish and Mennonite in that area so, thankfully, they are reserved (smart enough) not to display their political opinions.
TBH, I try not to pay attention to signs, unless they're clever.

(7 posts)in York County, you would have seen Trump signs everywhere. There are very few Harris signs, and more Trump signs than I have seen in the previous two elections. Just another reason I wouldn't mind moving away from here.

(8,533 posts)All I know is that my vote for Harris/Walz gets added to the aggregate in the rest of Virginia and thats what I hold onto. I do know how you feel.

(36,421 posts)a distance from the road. You can see one in east Ohio where I live. It is on the top of a hill about a
half mile from the highway. I would guess it is probably 25 to 30 feet wide. I saw one passing through NW
PA that was a quarter mile back painted on the side of a 55' semi-trailer. There are tons of them on the back roads,
I guess there are 30 or more within a mile of my house and 2 Harris signs. The good news the majority of people's homes have no sign. Many of the Trump signs or stickers I see are on old rust buckets or dilapidated shacks.

(961 posts)Were quite a few in 2016 and 2020. I bet they still will vote for the Orange menace though.
Driving with my parents and middle sister from sw Michigan to Tucson AZ where my parents will move in with my oldest sister. Its that time of life, but thats another story all together.
Anyway. In the surrounding rural areas around my parents small town of Berrien Springs, I had to deal with dozens of Trump signs (and was elated to see the few Kamala/Walz). On the drive to pick up the rental RV in Grand Rapids, dozens more.
Grand Rapids was full of K/W signs hooray!
But this is the point Im getting to. On the entire drive from MI to St. Louis MO my sister ABs I were shocked to see exactly zero Trump signs. We wondered if we had simply missed them, focusing on driving an unfamiliar 25-foot vehicle, so we began looking in earnest.
By the time the light failed, we had counted exactly TWO. One was hand painted onto a farm buildings roof during the 2020 election, and the other was from 2024.
There were plenty of signs for local elections, but none for the presidential.
Come THROUGH!!!!

(17,235 posts)I AM seeing fewer tRump signs in my neighborhood, but don't know if that means that they are too embarassed to admit that they support him, or something FINALLY (MY GAWD, what DOES it TAKE!!!!!) flipped them.
I just returned from a trip, starting in Butler County, PA (yes, THAT Butler County!!! ) and went to Stowe, VT. and back.
Didn't bump into Bernie (:chuckle but DID see lots of H/W signs there, and a few but not many for tRump.
What DID shock me was I took the 'looking-at-leaves' route through upper New York and was FLOORED by the number of 'ELISE' signs everywhere! (Elise Stefanik - R=MAGA-Bobblehead). Some of those same places had some tRump signs, but not all! (Keep their girl - dump the tRump? ).
Lower NY (Syracuse) and upper PA was very lean on tRump signs, and moderate for H/W.
All of that being said - I take little faith in what I see in signs UNLESS there's a CHANGE from the last election - and I'm seeing fewer tRump signs in places where I'd seen them before. Perhaps MORE important, and this comes from 'DEEP THROAT' in the Watergate scandal: FOLLOW THE MONEY!
And who has the most?
And why? Because too many people WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!!!
Here's hoping!!!!!
LET'S GET OUT THE VOTE!!!!!!

(33,651 posts)issue at this point. It shouldn't be. Republicans aren't going to do anything financially for rural areas (because as we all know, rich people like to keep their money). But they've got the churches, and that's all they need to keep rural voters in line.

But as we drove through neighborhoods I saw lots of Harris signs.
