I realize this is too simplistic a view, but when I hear "send it back to the States", the first thing that runs through

my mind is that we live in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. See that word UNITED. We don't live in the SEPARATE STATES OF AMERICA.

They argued that it should be up to the voters of each individual state to decide whether it should be legal to buy and own people as livestock animals.

unless it concerns "States Rights" voting, like in 2000...........where the USSC, without Constitutional justification or rights, interjected themselves into the Florida re-count and LITERALLY "threw" the election to W and Cheney.........

And kill our constitution because they want to bring back the Articles of Confederation. For these magats the Civil War never ended. They're still fighting the "War of Northern Aggression"... what everyone else calls the Civil War.

They're darned intent on beating us Yankees.. even tho North and South really has no meaning anymore.... and they want to beat us down finally and completely. That's why they're so prone to violence, IMNSHO.

States Rights was used to resist integration in the South. It's a manifestation of the desire to secede from the union, or "The South shall rise again".
