Alito belonged to a group that tried to keep women and minorities out of Princeton

in confirmation hearing played dumb re group's purpose

https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna10811149

Democrats declared themselves "incredulous" that Alito was unaware of the group's attitudes toward women and minority students, and that his explanations for why he joined the group and mentioned it on an application did not add up.

Kennedy read aloud a number of passages from the group's magazine, Prospect, that attacked women, minorities and gays. One 1983 article, titled "In Defense of Elitism," began: "People nowadays just don't seem to know their place. Everywhere one turns, blacks and Hispanics are demanding jobs simply because they're black and Hispanic. The physically handicapped are trying to gain equal representation in professional sports. And homosexuals are demanding the government vouchsafe them the right to bear children."

"When I saw Concerned Alumni of Princeton on that 1985 job application, I was flabbergasted," Durbin quoted Weeks as saying in the Nation magazine. "I was totally stunned. I couldn't believe it. CAP made it clear to women like me we were not wanted on campus. And he is touting his membership in this group in 1985, 13 years after he graduated? He's not a young man at this point. . . . I'm very troubled by this and if I were in the Senate, I would want some answers."

under their rocks to show their ugly faces and scream their horrible "truths." POC and women have gotten uppity. We no longer "no our place" in accordance with what these fine upstanding men believe it should be. But look at Alito... just look at his name, for Pete's sake! Does it scream White, Caucasian male to you? Without knowing him, I'd automatically put him in the column headed: POC for either Hispanic or (maybe) Sicilian. His hypocrisy absolutely knows no bounds, and irony is completely lost on him!

Alito is a bigot now, was a bigot then, and will continue to be a bigot for the rest of his misogynistic and intolerant life. it was very predictable, IMHO.

I remember when he was nominated, I also remember mention, at the time, of his association with a misogynistic organization or society. Back then I assumed that after Bork was rejected others of his ilk would also be. It's become clear I was oh so wrong. If the latest scandals don't at least cause Thomas and Alito to recuse in all Trump, Leonard Leo, Harlan Crow and Jan. 6 cases to avoid "even the appearance of bias", it will show they really don't care.

Even though I think the trio shoved into the Supreme Court by the Orange one and his cronies shouldn't have been, if we retain the Presidency (seriously!), the Senate (kill the filibuster), and regain the people's house the solution is to expand the SCOTUS. There are 13 courts of appeals below the Supreme Court, each should have a Supreme court Justice assigned IMHO. And Joe should appoint them all!
