Fain: In that fight, we had the President of the United States by our side every step of the way. Instead of talking trash about our union, Joe Biden stood with us and supported our historic victory
Fain: Trump said nothing. He did nothing. Not a thing, because he does not care about the American workers.
Fain: Trump went to a nonunion plant, invited by the boss, and trashed our union. That's right. And, here is what Joe Biden did during our stand up strike. He heard the call. He stood up and showed up.
Fain: Donald Trump is a scab. He is a billionaire and thats who he represents.
Fain: This choice is clear. Joe Biden bet on the American worker while Donald Trump blamed the American worker. So, if our endorsements must be earned, Joe Biden has earned it.
Fain: Im proud to announce that the UAW is endorsing Joe Biden for President of the United States

(20,238 posts)That would be the NEA, the teacher's union. Their ranks were weakened by Bush's No Child Left Behind that granted Vouchers to parents to pull their kids from public schools. A lot of public schools closed since, but I'm sure the backbone of our education system hasn't forgotten. Now, on the the service unions like police & fire. I imagine the Teamsters will be adding an endorsement as well, "down the road".
The UAW is growing now, thanx to the efforts of Sean Fein.

(7,950 posts)That is one great endorsement!
And Biden earned it.
He is the most pro-worker president of my lifetime, and I'm 72.
Bravo!

(24,459 posts)I am a retired CWA Union member and so very proud of our President standing on a picket line and showing solidarity with the UAW and all of us who work hard for an honest and livable wage. I hope others are inspired by the sacrifices that are made by Union members for a better future and vote for a president who stands with us. Vote Blue top to bottom on that ballot and give Biden the House and Senate to continue his fight for all of us.

(7,794 posts)But how much was left to question about such a full-throated condemnation of Trump and unqualified endorsement for Biden? Did he actually think the UAW guy was hedging?

(4,442 posts)"Trump doesn't care about the working class"
"Republicans don't care about the working class'
The working class is so much more than laborers, carpenters and plumbers. Think restaurant and hotel employees. Think office employees who are hunched over a desk or computer techs who maintain so much we take for granted in our lives.
When their wages and working conditions improve everyone benefits.

(12,192 posts)Didn't talk like a person with a shrinking vocabulary. He spoke directly and in complete sentences. And he wasn't ashamed to be a labor supporting liberal.
I can see why he is a success.
