I can see how they make loose sense sometimes but a lot of the times Im sort of scratching my head. Seems it would almost make more sense to group them alphabetically. Just sayin

(1,426 posts)that led to a page that listed ALL forums. If I didnt see the one I was looking for among the groups they were filed under, I could do a find with my web browser. I havent yet located any page on DU4 that lists ALL forums. Such a thing would be very helpful, I think.
Hmmm....I did a search for forums and found this page:
https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forums&mode=show_all
Which does list all forums but not in a user-friendly format, especially on a phone. And I still cant find any link that leads to that page or a pretty version of it.

(23,213 posts)It will be removed soon. As for the other groupings, its pretty straightforward. Heres how they are described on the feature list:
Issue Forums: Debate-style forums where people can discuss various political issues (eg. Economy, Environment, Gun Control, Religion, etc.)
Culture Forums: Forums for people who are interested in discussing the arts and other typically non-political subjects (eg. History, Science, Photography, Sports, etc.)
Alliance Forums: Safe-space forums for members of various political or cultural groups and their allies to talk about their issues (eg. Asian Group, LGBT, Jewish Group, etc.)
Region Forums: Forums for people who are interested in discussing subjects connected by geographic area (eg. all the state forums, U.S. Territories, United Kingdom, etc.)
Support Forums: Safe-space forums for members who want to give or receive assistance with various personal issues (eg. Addiction & Recovery, Cancer Support, Mental Health Support, etc.)
Help & Search: Site Announcements, DU Community Help, and General Computer Help can be found here. If you are a Main Forum Host or MIRT member, links to those forums also appear here. This page also contains options for searching DU.
When you visit any of those pages the forums are sorted by most-recently-posted thread, but you can alphabetize them by clicking the Forum Name table header.

(5,077 posts)It doesn't have a mobile layout. Can't see much at all on my phone. Sigh.
