Wait... we now have a forum called "Cable News Clips"?

I am SO confused.

Why are people still posting cable news clips in Video & Multimedia?

And how does "cable news clips" differ from just "news clips"? Should "cable news clips" be a SUB-forum of a "news clips" forum?

Then, should we also create a "music video clips" forum? And possibly a "topical comedy clips" forum?

How about a "podcasts and opiners clips" forum?

And then maybe a "nostalgia television clips" forum... and an "analysis and presentation clips" forum.

And then an "unclassified/other clips" forum, to round it off.

This could be the start of something BIG!

Then we could make "Video & Multimedia" into an aggregation page instead of a forum, so people couldn't post there. They'd have to go to the "video clips forums" list, and figure out which one of the forums best fit the clip they wanted to post.

And then we could all start subscribing only to the clips forums we want to have pop up in the annoying left column.

Oh, c'monnn.....!! It'll be FUN!!

1. Video & Multimedia is retired

You can't post in there any more, at least you shouldn't be able to.

There are two new forums to host the two specific types of video which are simultaneously very popular and also unpopular on DU. Those forums are Cable News Clips and Liberal YouTubers.

By separating them into specific forums, those types of video can be better identified on the Latest Videos page, and they also have a home outside of GD -- if posted in GD they might take up too much space because they're posted so frequently.

But also, if people DON'T want to see that type of video, they can now just trash one or both of the forums. So everybody wins.

All other videos can simply be posted in their appropriate Topic Forums, or in GD, or the Lounge -- whichever the poster feels is most appropriate.

All videos will then appear on the Latest Videos page in chronological order, newest first.
