General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAri just said polls are not reliable this far out, then presents a collection of people
criticizing Biden from his age to James Carville saying that Biden will lose to trump because of his age.
Then Ari says, if you are of the school where you dont want to hear reality, then turn me off.
So that is what I did, and frankly I dont care to watch him again.
That the MSM is so obsessed with Bidens age, as though just choosing someone under 60 against trump will automatically be a 55% win for Democrats, as though that is the only thing that matters to people.
I would argue the economy, immigration, abortion, voting rights, civil rights, climate change, oil prices, interest rates have more of a bearing on the election than the media obsession with age.
They are doing to Biden, in a similar way that they did to Hillary

He spent 2 minutes on the breaking news that a former president has been convicted, along with his sons, of fraud.
He's spent hours on Hunter Biden, despite zero connection to the President.

I have heard him say multiple times that Harris cannot win a general election, but cannot recall if he says that here.

(24,565 posts)on Ari a couple weeks ago. Ari said nothing, of course. When another guest mentioned Carvilles comment during another interview about a week later and called it a RW talking point, Ari had a come apart about it. So stupid.

(54,227 posts)I said out loud to myself, "Thank you, I will do just that" and switched to Seinfeld and Yada yada yada.
I was busy cooking with the TV on in the background and didn't switch stations ASAP when his show came on which I normally do. I can't stand him!!!!! I had to stop my kitchen prep, wash my hands and switch to Seinfeld.
MSNBC, get rid of him!!!!! There are a zillion others news hosts who would do a 100% better job.

(98,883 posts)suspect to give the impression of fairness with theproblems of trump, but the problem I think happens when they compare, or repeat republican talking points, comparing trump issues with accusations against Biden, that have no evidence behind them.

(75,006 posts)TFG will be 78 in '24.
Biden was not yet 78 when he won in '20.
So, TFG will actually be older on election day in 2024 than Biden was election day 2020.
Yet, this simple comparison doesn't seem to get discussed.
Exactly how old is too old? Is it 79? That would be awfully arbitrary.

(51 posts)Should President Biden be unable to complete his term, we have a capable experienced leader to step in. Age isnt a problem for me. Tired of all the naysayers when I dont hear half as much about T**** and his age and ignorance.

(385 posts)has 4 years of success to showcase. He will be President #47. I assure you. I do not care what the media says since MOST people no longer believe a word they say.
SpamWyzer
(385 posts)who served very long ago, is still sharp, funny and in control of his rapidly aging senses at 99 years of age. If you really believe Biden is "too old" then you are just being an ageist. Biden is going to win and I know that talking about his age is just another idiotic distraction. MSM can go fuck off. WE WON'T BE FOOLED AGAIN!!! and maga has no power anymore. I am, laughing and dancing because of what I know. LOL

(22,176 posts)You can tell ari is levelheaded. The BS pours out of both sides of his mouth. He isn't the only one, but if he can't support President Biden on MSNBC, then he should move to another network.
It doesn't do a bit of good to watch a single network to get a liberal iteration of the news, and get thinly disguised rw rhetoric. A broadcast like this one only reinforces the rw talking points that President Biden isn't a good choice to run, even for a second term. As far as I'm concerned, President Biden is a beacon leading us out of the darkness caused by traitor and his henchmen.

(245,941 posts)And I replied that President Biden is the president for this perilous time. With 36 years in the Senate and 8 years in the Executive Branch, he is the most experienced president in our history - and he was chosen by Obama for his foreign policy experience, and we need him and his unprecedented experience now.

(42,422 posts)I'm just boycotting Ari until he gives up this corporate angle on Biden. Being a lawyer doesn't give him the right to pretend objectivity when he ignores any objective standards about Biden. Who he factually, objectively KNOWS is the best president of his lifetime.

(3,419 posts)Like it or not there's quite a few democrats leery of Bidens age. It's part of the news, sorry but it is. It's better to see it, hear it, and face it than it is to stick the head in the sand. I bet those on here that are old enough were screaming at the top of their lungs Raygun was way too old when they were 40 years younger. I've seen people on here refuse to watch Ari because he references rap lyrics. Thats just stupid. I am concerned about his age but not because he cant do the job, the man has served his entire life. He deserves his golden years. Flame away.....

(3,363 posts)...easily my least favorite of the MSNBC "prime time" hosts. Time was, it was his tired old "middle aged guy trying desperately to stay hip by constantly quoting rap lyrics" shtick that made me hit the mute button. Now, it's so much worse.
I still record his show, but FF through about 98% of it - depends on the guest(s). Someone like Mehdi Hasan would be sooooo much better in that time slot!!!
