two very different men but both with big influence on all of us. Both gone at the same time and who will be remembered for all the good they did.

(12,120 posts)Larger than life, and cooler than the other side of the pillow. A telling little anecdote about Mr. Buffett from a doc I watched. I forget who was telling it, but I guess it doesn't matter. Whoever it was dropped by a gig JB had, VERY early in his career. A dive bar that was empty, save for JB, the bartender and a guy face down on his table.
And there was Jimmy Buffett, singing and playing his heart out, as if it was a packed theater (thinking of you, Fox Theater in Atlanta), and the story teller asked him why he was trying so hard for an audience who might as well have been a cast concrete garden gnome. JM told him that every audience deserved the best he had to give.
And, apropos of nothing except the impression your sig line made...I also miss Molly like crazy. My favourite quote from her was about George W, who she described as "not exactly bent double with intellect." Who else could have delivered that?

(9,605 posts)Jimmy Buffett, I will recall memories of South Padre Island at New Year's Eve, oyster shooters, margaritas, dancing like no one was watching, and the water lapping at the beach. And a DAMN good time. Miss you already, Jimmy.
Bill Richardson, soooo much respect. What a true patriot, and a great example of what good a politician can do if so inclined, something we see less and less of these days. You will be sorely missed, Governor Richardson.
Jimmy and Jane were married 46 years.
